Welcome to “Rongros”, literally translated as “the house of flavours”.
I still remember the days when my grandfather would sometimes go into the kitchen himself just because there was a certain memory of a certain taste or flavour he wanted to recreate, and our cook just wasn’t up to the task. Although they were often very simple homemade dishes, grandpa always had a way to make them special. I would be by his side, tip toeing over the stoves to see what was going on. The warm scents of his home cooked meals were carved into my childhood memories; they gave me a sense of comfort and joy, a memory I long dreamt to one day share with all my friends… and that’s how “Rongros” was born.
This little diner occupies what was formerly a “Rongrod’ or parking garage belonging to a local merchant family. Passing by it one day I noticed the garage doors left open. Overcame by curiosity I peeked through a hole in rear back wall. I immediately fell in love with what I saw. The heart stopping view through the crack in the wall and peeling paint together with that rare sense of history. The old way of life that’s still preserved in this neighbourhood made this a perfect choice for my modest eatery. I knew straight away that this garage would one day become the place to share my foodie memories with all my friends.

BIMBO life’s favourite moments BIMBO is the culmination of my quintessential Mediterranean holidays. It covers my best experiences in Italy, Spain, France, Greece and Morocco. Bimbo is reminiscent of my favourite chiringuitos, riads, seafood restaurants, tapas bars and pizza diners dotted around the Mediterranean. Bimbo evokes some of the most memorable moments in life at my favourite spots such as Conca del Sogno Nerano on the Amalfi coast, Casa Jondal Ibiza, Club Tahiti Saint Tropez, Trattoria Lillicu in Cagliari, with a bit of barefoot chiringuito in Formentera and Moorish exotica of Tangier. An evening at one of those places typically start with an innocent aperitivo and a cheeky tapas, but often escalates into a full blown meal and invariably ends up a bit tipsy with may be a little jiggle to the irresistible musical agenda. Mediterranean people live longer and have better lives. BIMBO serves up a no-brainer Mediterranean menu. You don’t need to be a culinary genius to dine here. There is nothing to “get” here, we won’t bore you with clever techniques and concepts, we don’t need to show off about how we carefully sourced local or imported ingredients. We are here to cook unpretentious good food, and mix good drinks and give you good vibes. BIMBO is designed by Ou Baholyodhin and operated by Bon Tharapibarn CEO of Rongros Dining group.
